Zazza Mornings Comes To An End At WA1A, WABD & WZNS

Tony Zazza exited mornings at three Cumulus Media CHRs following today’s show.

Based at “107.1 WA1A” WAIA Melbourne FL since July 2015, “Zazza Mornings” was also heard on 97.5 WABD Mobile AL and “Z96.5” WZNS Fort Walton Beach FL since September 2016. He has been paired with Erika Jeanine on the show since May 2021 after being teamed with Cheree Carter until 2019.

In his farewell post, Zazza hinted at a move elsewhere in the Melbourne market sharing, “It’s with a heavy heart that I share that today is the last day of Zazza Mornings. This was not personal, it was a business decision, and that comes with the territory. I just wanted to thank you for listening, for your continued support, for the laughs, for the tears, for your generosity to Jingle Jet and the families it benefitted (which is not going away), and for giving us the opportunity to be part of your life and morning routine. In Melbourne, you’re not getting rid of us yet. More on that soon. In the words of Dr. Seuss ‘Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened’. Thank you all so much for listening. Take care of each other, and be safe out there! Peace!”

Zazza began his career at Hot AC “Mix 102.9” KDMX Dallas from 1998 until 2009 rising through nearly every daypart until moving to mornings in 2005. He would then join 103.7 KVIL as midday host before moving up to mornings there as well until exiting in 2014.

Jeanine will continue to serve as Promotions Director at Cumulus Melbourne and host Saturday afternoons on WAIA. She previously served as Programming Coordinator at iHeartMedia AC “Magic 107.7” WMGF Orlando and was a weekend host at CHR “XL 106.7” WXXL until exiting in the company’s January 2020 cuts.
