Todd Nixon and Liz Hallam’s Sticks Media launched Country “Y’all 103.7” 1410 KTNK/103.7 K279CY Lompoc CA earlier this month.
Positioned as “Lompoc Valley’s Country”, the new brand is gold based but featuring a handful of currents. Nixon, who continues as Program Director and midday host at Steel City Media “Q104” KBEQ Kansas City, and his fiancé Hallam will host mornings together from 7-11am. She is new to radio, but grew up in the industry as her father Dene Hallam was a longtime Country programmer with stints including WHN and WKHK New York, WWWW Detroit, KKBQ Houston, KYCY San Francisco, and WDAF Kansas City. Nixon has programmed KBEQ since January 2017 with previous stints at WYZB Fort Walton Beach, KRMD-FM Shreveport, WCKT Fort Myers, WCTQ Sarasota, WTQR Greensboro, and WNCB Raleigh.
The new format creates a local competitor to American General Media’s “Sunny Country 102.5” KSNI. The former Classic Country/Bluegrass format continues online only.
