WVFJ-FM Tower Destroyed By Tornado

93.3 The Joy FM Radio Training Network WVFJ WVFJ-FM Greenville AtlantaRadio Training Network Christian AC “93.3 The Joy FM” WVFJ-FM Greenville/Atlanta GA is off the air as its tower was directly struck by a tornado on Thursday, January 12.

A message on the network’s website states, “Sadly, our 93.3 tower was destroyed by a tornado on January 12th and is currently OFF the AIR. While our team works to find a temporary solution, you can still listen live through your smart speaker,
in The JOY FM mobile app or online at thejoyfm.com.”

The over 1600 foot tower helped the station located near La Grange GA cover a portion of the Atlanta market where it had a 1.7 share in the December 2022 Nielsen Audio Ratings. In a message on a Facebook group, Radio Training Network engineer Dylan Paschall wrote, “We thankfully have connections in the market and hopefully if all goes well, will be back on air with another broadcasters aux antenna and a spare transmitter at a few kW in the coming days.”
