WVAX Drops ESPN For Fox Sports

Saga Communications has changed network affiliations at its Charlottesville VA Sports station as “1450 ESPN” WVAX/102.9 W275CL Charlottesville has relaunched as “Fox Sports 102.9“.

WVAX will air Fox Sports Radio’s national lineup 24/7 including Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Dan Patrick Show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, The Doug Gottlieb Show, and Covino & Rich weekdays.

Saga Communications announced today a partnership with FOX Sports Radio to launch Charlottesville’s FOX Sports 102.9 FM and 1450 AM (WVAX-AM/WVAX-X1), effective July 31, 2023.

Part of the station cluster that’s home to University of Virginia athletics, FOX Sports 102.9 FM and 1450 AM will feature a complete lineup of live sports entertainment shows. The station will broadcast FOX Sports Radio’s complete roster of industry-leading programs, including the following weekday programs: “Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn & Jonas Knox,” “The Dan Patrick Show,” “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” “The Doug Gottlieb Show,” “Covino & Rich,” “The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard & Rob Parker,” “The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon” and “The Ben Maller Show.” Plus, the station will feature FOX Sports Radio around the clock on weekends.
