WUGA Appoints Lara Dua-Swartz As Program Director/Content Strategist

Lara Dua-Swartz 91.7 WUGA AthensUniversity of Georgia’s Public News/Talk 91.7 WUGA/94.5 W233CA Athens GA has appointed Lara Dua-Swartz as Program Director and Content Strategist.

Dua-Swartz, who uses the on-air name ‘Lars’, has been with the station as a host and digital content producer, while also tracking middays at Cox Media Group AC “Magic 102.1” WGMG and weekends on “B98.5” WSB-FM Atlanta.

Prior to moving to Athens in 2023, she spent the majority of her career in New York and Washington DC where she spent seven years hosting late-nights and then middays at CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT Washington as ‘Vibegrrl’ and later hosted weekends/fill-ins at CHR “92.3 Now” WNOW-FM, Alternative “Alt 92.3” WNYL, and Hot AC 95.5 WPLJ New York.

She commented, “I’m so thrilled and beyond grateful for the opportunity to help WUGA expand its audience across Athens-Clarke County and Northeast Georgia. I have always longed for a chance to marry my skill sets in a way that will allow me to really give back to my community and this position embodies that wholly.”

Dua-Swartz succeeds Martin Matheny, who exited WUGA in August after 12 years with the station.
