WTIC Revamps Midday Lineup With Addition Of Tom Shattuck

Audacy News/Talk 1080 WTIC Hartford has announced a new programming lineup as it fills the two vacant midday slots in its schedule.

Ray Dunaway and Brian Shactman will continue to host mornings from 5:30 to 9am. Shactman, who joined WTIC in January, will now also host a solo hour from 9am to 10am as ““Extra Time with Brian”. Tom Shattuck will join WTIC for a 10am to 2pm midday show, while afternoon host Todd Feinburg adds the 2pm hour to his formerly 3-6pm show.

Shattuck most recently was senior editor of the Lowell Sun in Massachusetts. He previously was Digital Content Director and Executive Producer for 680 WRKO Boston from 2004-2008 and then Executive Producer and afternoon Co-host at 96.9 WTKK Boston from 2008 to 2013. Following the demise of WTKK, Shattuck joined the Boston Herald as Executive Producer of Boston Herald Radio and senior columnist for the newspaper later becoming Editorial Page Editor.

The schedule changes follow the departure of former 9am-12pm host Pastor Will Marotti in March and the end of the Rush Limbaugh Show.

Audacy announced a new weekday programming lineup for 1080 News Talk WTIC (WTIC-AM) in Hartford, effective June 21. The new revamped lineup will feature all-local programming from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.

As part of the changes, morning show co-host Brian Shactman will now also host “Extra Time with Brian,” weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET. The show will expand on leading local topics important to the people of Connecticut and beyond. The station subsequently welcomes New England media veteran Tom Shattuck as midday show host. “The Tom Shattuck Show” will be heard weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET. “The Todd Feinburg Show” will now follow at 2:00 p.m. and continue to air until 6:00 p.m. ET.

“Radio is best when it is local, when we can discuss and look at the local issues affecting our listeners” said Stephanie Perl, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Hartford. “Being able to expand our local weekday programming further separates WTIC from other radio stations in the state and we look forward to unveiling this new slate of content to our audience.”

“WTIC has been serving the people of Connecticut for almost one hundred years and I’m truly honored to be given the opportunity to contribute to the legacy of this great station,” said Shattuck. “These are extraordinary times and I look forward to talking about our politics and culture with the thoughtful, astute WTIC audience.”

Prior to joining Audacy, Tom Shattuck was the senior editor of The Lowell Sun newspaper in Lowell, MA. Before that, he served as the editorial page editor of The Boston Herald as well as the executive producer of Boston Herald Radio, a digital radio station. Shattuck arrived at The Boston Herald after a successful four-year stint at WTKK in Boston as executive producer of their afternoon drive show. He launched his radio career at WRKO in Boston as a web designer and content manager before moving into on-air programming and later executive producer.
