WRNB Returns To Adult R&B

100.3 RNB WRNB PhiladelphiaRadio One has shifted 100.3 WRNB Media/Philadelphia PA back to its former Adult R&B “100.3 RNB” identity.

WRNB had picked up the Hip Hop format of 103.9 WPHI Jenkintown following its sale to Audacy in November 2020. The station absorbed WPHI’s on-air lineup and rebranded as “100.3 RNB & Hip Hop“.

The station registered a 1.0 share in the July 2022 Nielsen Audio ratings, well behind iHeartMedia’s “Power 99” WUSL’s 3.6 share. The move to Adult R&B places the station back in direct format competition with iHeart’s market leading 105.3 WDAS-FM and its 8.5 share as it flanks sister R&B Oldies “Classix 107.9” WPPZ.

With the flip, Program Director/afternoon host Paris Nicole exits the company after twelve years. Nicole originally joined the Philadelphia cluster in 2017 as APD of then “Boom 103.9” WPHI. She would rise to PD of WPHI and then moved to WRNB with the format in 2020. She previously worked for Radio One’s “iPower 92.1” WCDX Richmond VA. No word yet on the status of other local staffers including midday host Mina SayWhat and evening host/mixer DJ Bran.
