Rubber City Radio Group Rock 97.5 WONE-FM Akron OH will mark the 40th anniversary of its launch on Wednesday, January 1.
The former Easy Listening WAEZ-FM flipped to Rock at 6am on January 1, 1985. To mark the occasion, current morning hosts Matt Spatz and Amanda Casey will host a special show starting at noon beginning with the station’s original sign-on followed by a countdown of the listener voted 40 favorite songs of the station’s first 40 years. The countdown will also feature highlights and memories from current and former staffers and salutes to artists from Northeast Ohio.
