Dick Broadcasting CHR “Energy 92.1” WMYB Myrtle Beach SC will rebrand as “Ukraine 92.1” this weekend.

The station will feature comments from Ukrainians living in Myrtle Beach, and provide information of fundraising and relief efforts. The station shared a sample audio clip:

Starting Friday morning at 10am Dick Broadcasting’s (TOP 40) Energy 92.1 (WMYB-FM) will rebrand itself as UKRAINE 92.1 as show of solidarity and support for the people of Ukraine in their fight with the invading forces from Russia.

Through Sunday night UKRAINE 92.1 will spotlight people from Ukraine who now live in Myrtle Beach. “It’s sad to see a country invade another country for no reason. Speaking to Ukrainians here in Myrtle Beach, who have family and friends still in Ukraine, makes this hit close to home and I hope everyone takes the time to listen and helps them in their fight for peace,” says WMYB PD Zack Williams. In addition, WMYB’s local on-air staff will pass along information on how listeners can help with fundraising and relief efforts.

“Kudos to Zack and his team for finding a compelling way to connect a war over 5,000 miles away to people living here in Myrtle Beach” DBC OM Charlie Steele.
