While awaiting FCC approval of its $325,000 purchase of Border International Broadcasting’s 102.7 WLYK Cape Vincent NY, Jon Pole and Andrew Dickson’s 1234567 Corporation have begun operating the station.
At 1pm today, WLYK dropped the Rogers Sports & Media programmed CHR “Kiss 102.7” and have begun stunting as “102.7 The Pole“. Featuring music for strippers or as they put it “Music For The Grind”, the stunt replicates one done by 101.5 Denver in 2009, with a mix of Rock, Hip Hop and Pop that would be played at strip clubs during performances. The stunt website features fake shows such as “Desstiny and Chestiny” in mornings and “Sores and Scores” with Angina at night.
While licensed in the United States, WLYK has been utilized for most of its existence to serve the Kingston ON market right across the St. Lawrence River. Jon Pole and Andrew Dickson are also the co-founders of Canada’s My Broadcasting Corporation and serve as President and Executive Vice President respectively. The majority of My Broadcasting’s stations feature an AC or Classic Hits format branded as “My-FM“.
