iHeartMedia Classic Rock 106.7 WLLZ Detroit is releasing a vinyl record on Friday, August 25.
“Motor City Rocks 2023” will be limited to 500 copies and manufactured at Third Man Pressing in Detroit. The album features tracks from Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), The Reefermen, HALLOWEEN, Cadillac Kidz, Adrenalin, Tino G’s Dumpster Machine, Dave Edwards & The Look, a new version of ‘Common Ground’ from Rhythm Corps, a live version of Ted Nugent’s “Queen of the Forest” recorded live at Cobo Hall on New Year’s Eve in 1988. Related to the album release will have three concerts in October featuring the bands on the album.
iHeartMedia Detroit’s 106.7 WLLZ Detroit’s Wheels, Classic Rock That Rocks, announced today the release of a new vinyl album on August 25, titled “Motor City Rocks 2023,” to honor the station’s rock legacy. “Motor City Rocks 2023” was a collaboration with Sound City Music executive producers Jason Hartless Sr. and Jason Hartless Jr. The exclusive 500-copy limited edition album was manufactured at Third Man Pressing in Detroit and will be available at record stores across the metro Detroit region.

“There is no shortage of great rock bands in the Motor City. We released an album last year and had such a great response from our listeners and demand from record stores we thought, let’s do it again. The names on this album are legendary,” said Doug Podell, PM Drive host for 106.7 WLLZ Detroit’s Wheels.
“Detroit has such a rich rock n’ roll history and we’re proud to once again showcase some of the best the Motor City has to offer,” said Casey Krukowski, Program Director for 106.7 WLLZ Detroit’s Wheels.
