WJOX Morning Show Departs To Launch Digital Platform

The four members of the “Jox Roundtable” heard in mornings on Cumulus Media Sports “Jox 94.5” WJOX-FM Birmingham have departed the station and will launch their own digital platform in the coming weeks.

AL.com reports that hosts Jim Dunaway, Lance Taylor and Ryan Brown and producer Sean Heninger aired their final show on Wednesday, June 16 while their contracts expired at the end of May. Ryan Brown told the site, “The decision for us to leave JOX, frankly, was an incredibly difficult decision. There are no hard feelings. We are not upset with Cumulus or WJOX. In fact, they have been phenomenal to us. It has been among the greatest 21 years of our lives. Combined, we have worked there for 77 years. We are heavily invested in that station, and they are heavily invested in us. But, for anyone who has any sort of entrepreneurial spirit, you stop and say what would it be like if I worked for myself? What if I controlled a lot of my future? I think that was the question a lot of us had over the last year.”

The “Jox Roundtable” had debuted on the station as a midday show in 2010 and moved to mornings in March 2018.
