WGHN Inc. has launched “94.9 The Channel” on 1370 WGHN/94.9 W235CM Grand Haven MI.
Positioning as “Grand Haven’s Finest Rock”, the company describes the station as “a Rock based station that includes music that came out on vinyl, cassettes and CD’s, spanning the genre.”
The move basically replaces the company’s former “Classic Rock 93.1” WMPA Ferrysburg before that station was flipped to Christian AC ahead of its sale to West Central Michigan Media Ministries in 2022.
WGHN/W235CM had most recently been simulcasting sister AC 92.1 WGHN-FM since last November after the FM was temporarily taken silent when evicted from its tower site. Before that the station carried programming from Westwood One’s “Good Time Oldies” network.
WGHN Inc. is proud to announce the launch of 94.9 The Channel, Grand Haven’s Finest Rock. The Channel is a Rock based station that includes music that came out on vinyl, cassettes and CD’s, spanning the genre.
“We have been looking for the best compliment for WGHN/92.1 FM, and 94.9 The Channel is that. It will allow our local businesses and other organizations to reach Adults 35 plus with two radio stations here in Northwest Ottawa County.” said General Manager Mike Toth.
“The Channel is a music chosen by us for our community. If it was a great song, it is a great listen to 94.9 The Channel, Grand Haven’s Finest Rock over-the-air at FM 94.9 and AM 1370, the free Grand Haven Radio app and at wghn.com.”
WGHN, Inc. is family owned and locally operated and has been serving the Greater Grand Haven area for over 67 years.
