Public News/Talk 89.7 WGBH-FM Boston is making a morning change.
Current Morning Edition hosts Paris Alston and Jeremy Siegel will move onto new roles. Alston will host a relaunched version of WGBH-TV’s “Basic Black” focusing on issues that matter to communities of color, debuting in early 2025 under a new name. She will also expand her social media video series “A Walk Down the Block”.
Siegel will host a statewide one-hour radio show and podcast “to hear stories about what makes the Bay State unique” and become the transportation correspondent for GBH News and its syndicated “The World”. His reporting will also be featured regularly on Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
GBH News and The World Editor in Chief Dan Lothian said, “Paris and Jeremy are both accomplished storytellers, and we hope listeners will join us as we explore new topics and geographies together.”
Reporter Mark Herz will serve as interim host of Morning Edition starting Monday, October 28. The show will also be cut back one hour to run from 6-10am as opposed to 5-10am.
