WFAN/CBS Sports Radio Program Director Spike Eskin To Return To WIP As Afternoon Host

Spike Eskin is departing his role as Vice President of Programming at Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM New York and CBS Sports Radio to return to sister 94.1 WIP Philadelphia as afternoon host upon the appointment of his successor in New York.

Eskin previously worked at WIP from 2012 to May 2021 first as Social Media Director and rising to PD in 2014 until he moved to WFAN/CBS Sports Radio. The son of longtime Philadelphia sports host (mostly in afternoons at WIP) Howard Eskin, Spike also previously co-hosted the Josh Innes Show in afternoons on WIP from 2015-17. He has also worked on-air and was APD/MD at predecessor Active Rock WYSP and Alternative “Q101” WKQX Chicago.

Eskin will join Ike Reese & Jack Fritz in afternoons from 2-6pm filling the opening created by Jon Marks’ departure at the end of 2023.

Audacy announced Spike Eskin will return to SportsRadio 94WIP (WIP-FM) in Philadelphia as afternoon drive co-host. Eskin will depart his current position as Vice President of Programming for WFAN (WFAN-FM) in New York and CBS Sports Radio, which he has held since 2021.

Eskin will join co-hosts Ike Reese and Jack Fritz and be heard weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. He will return to the WIP airwaves once his successor at WFAN and CBS Sports Radio has been found. A nationwide search is currently underway.

“We’re very excited to bring Spike home to Philadelphia and SportsRadio 94WIP,” said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Philadelphia. “This is a unique opportunity to add a great talent with a long history in our marketplace to one of our most popular dayparts, and we’re looking forward to having Spike reunite with his longtime friend and colleague Ike Reese and Jack Fritz to shape the future of afternoon drive at WIP.”

“I am thrilled to be able to work with Ike and Jack in afternoons at 94WIP,” said Eskin. “It’s now the third job of a lifetime I’ve had the opportunity to do. Leaving WFAN and CBS Sports Radio is an incredibly difficult decision. I’m surrounded by talented, great people, and it’s been an amazing experience. I’d like to thank David Yadgaroff, Jeff Sottolano and Rod Lakin for this opportunity, and Chris Oliviero for my time in New York.”

“Spike quickly became an integral part of the fabric of WFAN and CBS Sports Radio by making significant contributions to the brands, both on the air and in the hallways,” said Chris Oliviero, Market President, Audacy New York. “New Yorkers and Philadelphians rarely agree on anything, especially when it comes to sports, but we are aligned in our belief that Spike is a tremendous talent who is perfect for this next endeavor.”

Eskin is a seasoned radio industry talent with over 25 years of experience. Before becoming Vice President of Programming for WFAN and CBS Sports Radio in 2021, Eskin served as Brand Manager of SportsRadio 94WIP for seven years. Eskin has also held additional on-air and programming roles at SportsRadio 94WIP and two tours at 94WYSP – the rock station that was previously on the frequency. He has also spent time with Philadelphia sister station KYW Newsradio and Q101 in Chicago and is also the host of the popular Sixers-centric podcast The Rights To Ricky Sanchez.
