Civic Media has returned the heritage WCFW call letters back to 105.7 Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire WI as it has closed on its multi-station acquisition from Magnum Media and has flipped the station to Variety Hits “105.7 CFW“.
Positioned as “The Valley’s Fun Music”, the station is promoting as a “full-service music, news, and community station” with music from the “80’s, 90’s, and more”. WCFW had been Soft AC “C105” until its sale to Magnum Media last fall when it was relaunched as AC 105.7 WEZY.
Civic Media brings Chippewa Falls’ heritage FM radio station WCFW at 105.7 FM into its fold. “105.7 ‘CFW” is a full-service music, news, and community station, featuring the Valley’s Fun Music, spanning the hits of the 80’s, 90’s, and more.
WCFW first started broadcasting in 1968 and was owned by Roland Bushland until last year. Civic Media aims to continue the Bushland legacy of serving the local community with fine music, news, and local sports.
WCFW has just been upgraded with a new HD digital transmitter broadcasting at 25,000 watts, and is now the only HD radio station available in the greater Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire area. Civic Media is pleased to bring a first-class operation to the greater Chippewa Valley and surrounding communities.
WCFW will broadcast locally from its studio and business offices at 220 1/2 N Bridge St, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
