WBAP Seeks Afternoon Host As Rick Roberts Exits

Cumulus Media News/Talk 820 WBAP Fort Worth/Dallas is seeking a new afternoon drive host as Rick Roberts has exited after seven and a half years in the timeslot.

A former attorney, Roberts joined WBAP as host of the 2-5pm show in January 2016. He previously worked in the Dallas market at 1080 KRLD in the late 90s and has also spent time at KOA Denver, KCMO Kansas City, KOGO and KFMB San Diego, KKFT Reno, and KTOK Oklahoma City. During his tenure at WBAP, he also served as a guest host for Michael Savage and Red Eye Radio.

In a job posting, Cumulus states it is “looking for its next 2pm-5pm Weekday Talk Superstar for legendary News/Talk 820 WBAP AND 99-5-FM HD2. You must have a history of ratings success in a major to large market. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER POLITICAL TALK SHOW. You must be a news/talk junkie with the ability to identify stories that impact the average 45-64 yr. old adult. Our ideal candidate should possess an extremely good work ethic, be opinionated, be curious, be a self-starter, be a great interviewer, and be highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extreme reliability and flexibility.”
