iHeartMedia Country 98.1 KVET-FM Austin is revamping its morning show as WSIX Nashville afternoon hosts ‘Wayne D’ Danielson and Tay Hamilton will join incumbent host Bama Brown
Danielson and Hamilton will remain in Nashville, where they will continue in their afternoon slot at “The Big 98“. Danielson joined WSIX in June 2020 after previously serving as PD/afternoon host at “95.5 The Bull” KWNR Las Vegas. He previously served as APD/MD/afternoon host at sister CHR “93.1 The Party” KPLV and has also hosted nights at CHR 101.3 KDWB Minneapolis and worked at 104.7 KCLD St. Cloud MN in his career. Hamilton joined WSIX in September 2020 from middays at KWNR and also previously worked at KPLV.
Bama Brown has been heard in mornings in Austin since 1999 first at “KASE 101” before moving to KVET-FM in 2013. He was teamed with Rob Mason from 1999 until 2020 and Heather White from 2008 to 2021. He has been hosting mornings solo since White’s departure in August 2021.
98.1 KVET, Austin’s All-Time Country Favorites, announced today that on-air personalities Wayne D and Tay Hamilton will join Bama Brown with the launch of “Wayne D, Tay & Bama,” effective May 31. “Wayne D, Tay & Bama” will broadcast weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.Each weekday morning, on-air personalities Wayne D, Tay, and Bama will connect with Austin listeners and discuss the latest local and pop culture headlines, share personal stories and perspectives from artists within the community and lead the legendary 98.1 KVET.“Wayne D is an absolute pro on-air quarterback on all levels.
