Troy Hanson Cumulus Media Q101 WKQX ChicagoTroy Hanson has exited Cumulus Media in his multiple roles as Vice President of Programming for Rock formats, VP/Operations for the Chicago clusters, and Program Director of Alternative “Q101” WKQX Chicago

Hanson joined Cumulus in 2013 as the Corporate Program Director of Rock Formats and PD of Classic Rock “Rock 100.5” WNNX Atlanta. He moved to WKQX in June 2015, added the VP/Operations duties in May 2017, and to Corporate VP/Rock Programming in May 2020. He has signed a new three year contract with the company last November. Before joining Cumulus, Hanson was Operations Manager of Cromwell’s Nashville stations. He has also held PD or MD roles at KQDS Duluth, WKQZ Saginaw, WLZR Milwaukee, KAZR Des Moines, WKRIF Detroit and WZTA Miami.

Hanson’s departure follows the abrupt exit of WKQX morning co-host Justin Nettlebeck earlier this week.
