Vinny Marino's Cumulus Erie Dismissal Ends In Police Chase

After being dismissed last week as Program Director of AC “Classy 100” WXKC and Classic Hip-Hop “104.3 The Vibe” W282BR/WXKC-HD2 Erie PA, Vinny Marino led Pennsylvania State Police officers on a two mile chase.

WJET-TV reports that the police were called to escort Marino from the building after being notified that he was being let go. Marino was allegedly verbally harassing former coworkers on his way out, then backed his car into other vehicles in the parking lot in full view of the State Troopers. He then fled the scene, leading the officers on a two mile chase before surrendering to authorities. Marino faces charges of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, harassment, disorderly conduct, and accidents involving unattended vehicles, and multiple summary traffic violations.

Marino joined Cumulus in February 2020 from Press Communications in New Jersey where he worked on-air for Classic Rock “107.1 The Boss” WWZY Long Branch. Earlier in his career he served as APD/MD for Classical 104.3 WNCN New York and successor Active Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ as well as “97.9 The Loop” WLUP Chicago during its brief Modern AC format in the mid 1990s. Marino has also worked on-air at WNEW and WQXR New York, and was an anchor and entertainment news reporter for Merlin Media’s “FM News” stations in Chicago and New York.
