Hope Media Group has closed on its $1.1 million purchase of Christian AC “90.9 Life-FM” WLFE Cutler Bay FL from Calvary Chapel of Kendall and as previously announced has flipped the station to its Spanish Christian “Vida Unida” network.
WLFE serves the southernmost portions of the Miami market. Hope Media Group launched the brand in November 2021 on 91.7 KHVU Houston and has since spread the programming to translators in Birmingham AL and Evansville IN and HD subchannels in Portland OR, Dallas, and Nashville. The network’s morning host Myrka Dellanos has been based in Miami since its launch.
Hope Media Group (HMG) has expanded its Spanish language Christian radio network “Vida Unida” to South Florida.
Since February 1, listeners in the region have had access to Spanish language Christian music with the addition of WLFE (90.9) Key Largo, FL (covering Miami) and the debut of a new morning show “Myrka en la Mañana,” hosted by veteran broadcast personality Myrka Dellanos. The network’s 24/7 music format features uplifting Christian music, a phone and virtual prayer request hotline, Bible teachings, daily devotionals, motivational chats, guest interviews and more.
Since 2022, HMG’s merger with Way Media has allowed Vida Unida’s flagship KHVU (91.7) Houston to have a presence in several cities across the country. Morning host Dellanos is joined on-air by co-host Sadiel Castro, Program Director for Vida Unida. Castro joins Myrka from Houston, weekdays from 7am ET/6am CT to 11am ET/6am CT.
“We are excited to increase the reach of Vida Unida and deliver Spanish language programming in South Florida that celebrates Christian values, the Hispanic culture, family, and inspires people to grow in their relationship with Jesus,” said Hope Media Group President/CEO Joe Paulo. “With the addition of WLFE-FM/90.9FM, we are connecting with even more listeners, bringing hope, and making a positive impact in the lives of this diverse community.”
“Vida Unida goes beyond entertaining, it also empowers our listeners to serve others, give back to their community, live their best lives, and establish closer relationships with those around them,” says Dellanos. “We want to help your entire family start their day with compassion, optimism, and expectation in the power of faith in Jesus.”
