After seven years in nights at Cumulus Media CHR 104.1 KRBE Houston, Tyler Frye is moving to “95.7 The Vibe” KCHZ Kansas City to host middays.
Frye joined KRBE in February 2015 after three years hosting nights at “G105” WDCG Raleigh. He began his career as a fill-in host at 93.3 WFLZ Tampa and has also hosted nights at “Hot 107.1” KDHT Denver. He fills the opening created by Cassiday Proctor’s move to mornings at WEDG Buffalo last month.
KRBE is now seeking its next evening host looking for someone with at least 2 years of on-air experience with a proven track record of success, preferably in the CHR format. All interested applicants can get more details here.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that it has appointed on-air personality Tyler Frye as On-Air Host, Middays on Kansas City Top 40 station, 95.7 The Vibe (KCHZ-FM). Frye heads to Cumulus Kansas City from Cumulus Houston, where he was On-Air Host, Nights, on 104.1 KRBE. Frye hosted “H-Town Live with Tyler Frye” on KRBE for nearly 7 years. Prior to that, he was On-Air Host, Nights and Middays, on G105 (WDCG-FM) in Raleigh, NC. Frye also hosted Nights on HOT 107.1 (KFCO-FM) in Denver, CO.
Jagger, Program Director, 95.7 The Vibe, remarked: “I’ve been a fan of Tyler Frye’s for a long time. He has great on-air energy and he does an amazing job connecting with his listeners. His creativity and personality will be an awesome addition to our team here in Kansas City on 95-7 The Vibe.”
Tyler Frye commented: “I am extremely excited to be working side by side with Jagger who is one of the best in this industry. It was an easy choice to make the move over to middays on 95-7 The Vibe, I look forward to ditching the “night guy” lifestyle. What do people do on weeknights? Houston will forever be a second home for me but let’s get to work in KC! Also, I need to buy a winter coat. I would like to thank Donna Baker, Jim Fox, Jagger and Doug Hamand for this opportunity.”
