Twelve hour music marathon heading to Dee Radio and Silk Radio

Chester’s Dee Radio and Cheshire’s Silk Radio are to hold a 12 hour music marathon in aid of charity.

The sister stations will be raising money for Prostate Cancer UK’s Prostate Cancer March Awareness Month.

The 12 hour Music Marathon will be hosted by Dee Sport’s Steve Lord who himself was affected by Prostate Cancer nearly six years ago.

Steve commented: “I consider myself one of the lucky ones, although Prostate Cancer affected my family, I was aware of it and the risks involved, so through early detection and treatment, I have been cancer free for over five years.

“I wanted to do something which would highlight the need for early detection and hopefully raise some money for Prostate Cancer UK in the process. So I put the idea for the show to our CEO Chris Hurst and Programme Controller Shane Pinnington and they said yes!

“Prostate Cancer UK are fully behind the show and are going to provide guests to interview as well. There will also be live music, celeb interviews and prizes to give away over the 12 hours.”

Steve is looking for more celebrities who would like to take part and companies who would like to donate prizes. Interviews can be pre-recorded or live. If you would like to take part or donate a prize email him at steve.lord@dee1063.com.

The event takes place on Sunday 24th March between 6pm and 6am.
