A new map complete with radio logos on has been launched by TuneIn to celebrate World Radio Day.
TuneIn Explorer allows users to scroll or pan around a map to see which radio stations are available according to the area they are looking at.
It’s not complete though, tons of radio stations already in the TuneIn directory do not make it to the map, and stations that no longer exist also feature above others.
Filters allow listeners to customise their experience and focus on their favorite categories and genres, including news, talk, sports and music, or see stations broadcasting in top languages.
“World Radio Day is a celebration of radio’s storied history, but also an opportunity to look ahead to a brighter future,” said Richard Stern, CEO of TuneIn.
“TuneIn Explorer literally puts the entire world of radio at your fingertips, and is just one example of how TuneIn is living its mission to reinvent radio for a connected world. Explorer showcases the tremendous skill of our global broadcast partners and gives listeners a powerful new way to experience everything the world of radio has to offer.”
TuneIn Explorer is available to all users here.
