Travis Moon Joins Cox Houston As Director Of Operations

Cox Media Group Houston has appointed Travis Moon as Director of Operations for Country “93Q” 92.9 KKBQ Pasadena, Classic Country “Country Legends 97.1” KTHT Cleveland, and Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK Lake Jackson/KHPT Conroe. Moon will be responsible for all programming and content at Cox’s Houston cluster.

Moon joins Cox from Cumulus Media Country “K-Bull 93” 93.3 KUBL Salt Lake City where he has served as Program Director since July 2017 following an earlier stint as APD/MD in the mid 90’s. He has also served as Director of Country Operations for iHeartMedia’s four Country stations in Austin and San Antonio TX, Program Director of Hubbard Country “B105.1” WUBE Cincinnati and iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Kool 108” KQQL Minneapolis, APD/MD for “K102” KEEY Minneapolis, and Senior Liaison of Radio Development for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Cox Media Group (“CMG”) today announced that Travis Moon has been named Director of Operations effective April 11. In this role, Moon will be responsible for all CMG Houston cluster content for KKBQ, KGLK and KTHT.

A country radio veteran, Moon was most recently Program Director for KUBL in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over his 30 plus years in radio, he’s held similar roles at KAJA in San Antonio, Texas, KASE and KVET in Austin, Texas, and content leadership positions in Cincinnati and Minneapolis. 

“Travis is a talented and creative content leader with a rich history in Texas,” said CMG Regional Vice President Keith Lawless. “I am proud to have him join our CMG Houston family and excited for Houston’s next chapter under his leadership.”

A native of Nebraska, Moon has also served for 17 years on the Country Cares Advisory Board for ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The board provides support to St. Jude by enhancing country music’s fundraising efforts that help in the fight against childhood cancer.
