Townsquare Media has announced the appointment of Jim Kovacik as Director of Content for their four stations in Victoria TX.
Kovacik is best known for his 30 year run at Radio One Hip Hop “97.9 The Box” KBXX as morning show producer and co-host under the names ‘Jimbo’ and ‘Jim Beazy’ from 1991 to 2020. Kovacik also served as Director of Public Affairs from 1991 to 1997 and Creative Services Director at KBXX from 1998 to 2011.
Kovacik succeeds Wes Adams following Adams move to the company’s Grand Junction CO cluster.
Townsquare Media Victoria, TX announced today that Jim Kovacik has been named Director of Content of the Company’s Victoria stations (Country KIXS-FM, Top 40 KQVT-FM, Classic Rock KLUB-FM, and Jack FM KTXN-FM). He replaces Wes Adams, who was promoted to Director of Content for the Company’s Grand Junction, CO stations.

Kovacik has an impressive 30-year track record in Houston, producing four highly successful major market morning shows. His first day with Townsquare was July 21.
