TM Studios is proud to create a high-end, modern sound for Audacy’s KNX News, Los Angeles.
Through an extensive market research project, the team at KNX News learned that a fresh, modern sound would be critical to the brand’s future.
Alex Silverman, Director of News and Programming KNX News, reached out to TM Studios to tackle the job of a 2023 update, which called for a fresh approach with no news radio cliches. The brief also included the concept of bringing back TM’s Iconic iteration of the KNX heritage logo, still widely recognized in Southern California.
TM Worked with the KNX News team to deliver a sound that required not only approval from management and on-air talent, but also got high marks from current and potential listeners before going on air.
Silverman says, “Companies in every industry are realizing the power of audio in building human connection. Because audio is our product, it was all the more important to get this right. Working with the team at TM Studios to evolve KNX News’s iconic sonic branding was a pleasure because they were willing to think beyond traditional news radio music, and they knew how powerful it would be when we hit the right notes.”
Dave Bethell, Chief Creative Officer and Co-owner of TM Studios adds, “Working with Alex and his team has been an absolute blast. His vision was clear, his direction was confident and honest and together we created something truly unique in News Radio branding. I’m grateful he appreciates the power and impact of a sonic identity and bringing back the famous sonic logo in a new 2023 way was a smart play.”
