BBC Radio Northampton presenter Tim Wheeler has left the station schedule after 14 years with the BBC.
Tim posted a message on social media saying BBC Radio schedules are changing and for now he’s stepping back to look after his daughter.
He went on to thank the team at BBC Northampton for their support, and thank the listeners for making his job hugely enjoyable.
His final show was on May 25th 2023.
Tim is just one of dozens of presenters who have announced their departures in recent weeks following the major changes to local radio at the BBC.
He added: “I have spent time reading through your msgs. I tried to do something that engendered a sense of fun, frivolity & when it comes to news; fairness. The fact you ‘got it’ & gave me a chance means everything. Pls show the same support to those who follow me. Decisions were above us.”
BBC Radio schedules are changing and for now I’m stepping back to look after my daughter. Thanks to the team at @BBCNorthampton for your support & especially to @JamesGrant_01 for being magic. The listeners? Your waffles made my job hugely enjoyable. My final show is 25th May.
