Tim Rainey Joins KKRZ/KXJM Portland As Program Director

iHeeartMedia has appointed Tim Rainey as Program Director of CHR “Z100” KKRZ Portland and Rhythmic CHR “Jam’n 107.5” KXJM Banks/Portland OR.

Rainey most recently programmed Audacy CHR “106.5 The End” KUDL Sacramento from 2015 to 2021 after previously programming “98.7 Amp Radio” WDZH Detroit from 2012-2015 and “Radio Now 100.9” WNOU Indianapolis from 2007-2011. During his tenure at Audacy Sacramento, he also programmed Hot AC “Star 106.5” KUDL until 2017 when it and “The End” were merged following the surrender of the 107.9 license, co-hosted “The Wake Up Call” from May 2017 until his exit, and was public address announcer for the AAA Sacramento River Cats. Rainey has also worked on-air in Tulsa, Reno and Las Vegas. He has been tracking mornings at Evans Broadcast Group Alternative “Alt 92.1” KRAT Sparks/Reno NV since September 2022 while working as Senior Director of Content Marketing for Southern California News Group.

iHeartMedia announced today that Tim Rainey has been named Program Director for KKRZ-FM and KXJM-FM for the Portland market, effective immediately. As Program Director, Rainey will be responsible for all on-air, social, and digital strategies for both KKRZ-FM and KXJM-FM. He will report to Rich Moore, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Seattle and Portland.

Tim Rainey joins Portland from the Southern California News Group, based in Orange County, California, where he was most recently the Senior Director, Content Marketing since 2022. Rainey previously programmed KDND and KUDL Sacramento, WDZH Detroit and WNOU Indianapolis. Prior career stops include Tulsa, Las Vegas and Reno. Rainey is a graduate from UNLV with his degree in Broadcast Journalism and started his career in radio as a teenager at his hometown radio station, KGVM-FM, in Gardnerville, Nevada.
