Tim Donnelly Joins 99.9 The Fan As Afternoon Host

Capitol Broadcasting Company Sports “99.9 The Fan” WCMC-FM Holly Springs/Raleigh NC has appointed Tim Donnelly as its new 3-6pm host.

Donnelly joins WCMC-FM from Max Media’s “Priority Auto Sports Radio 94.1” WVSP Yorktown/Norfolk VA where he has hosted afternoons since June 2021. The former University of Delaware quarterback previously hosted mornings at “Supersports 101.7” WRAD Blacksburg VA and served as OM/host at “ESPN Ithaca” 1160 WPIE Trumansburg NY. He will also contribute web content and analysis to the company’s WRALSportsFan.com and longform audio content for the Capitol Broadcasting Podcast Network.

The station also notes that Dennis Cox, who will serve as the show’s producer and take on a bigger on-air role. Cox currently serves as host of a weekly radio/TV show and podcast “Culture State” for the company and fill-in host at the station and on the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and ACC men’s basketball coverage.

Donnelly succeeds “The OG with Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio” in afternoons following the cancellation of their show at the end of April.

Capitol Broadcasting Company announces the addition of personality Tim Donnelly to its daily lineup on 99.9 The Fan. Starting in mid-July, Donnelly will host the local weekday 3p-6p show on sports radio station WCMC in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Donnelly is a rising star in the sports media industry, having recently led highly-rated daily morning and afternoon radio programs in Norfolk-Virginia Beach and Blacksburg, Virginia. He also fills in as a weekend host on the national CBS Sports Radio network.
Prior to his media career, Donnelly was a decorated athlete, playing quarterback at the University of Delaware. He began at Delaware in 2009 as a preferred walk-on and earned the starting role by his junior year with the Blue Hens.

Donnelly’s role at Capitol Broadcasting Company will expand beyond afternoon drive on 99.9 The Fan. He will also contribute web content and analysis on WRALSportsFan.com and original longform audio content for the Capitol Broadcasting Podcast Network.
