The Fan Upstate Goes Wire 2 Wire With Greg ‘Diesel’ Abee and Cole Bryson In Afternoons

Audacy Sports “The Fan Upstate” 1330 WYRD/97.7 W249DL/WFBC-HD3 Greenville and 950 WORD/97.1 W246CV Spartanburg will launch a new afternoon show “Wire 2 Wire” with Greg ‘Diesel’ Abee and Cole Bryson on Monday, March 25.

Abee and Bryson will replace “Offsides with Marc Ryan” as Ryan departs the station after five years for a to-be-announced role at Audacy’s “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM Detroit.

Abee has been with Audacy Greenville in multiple roles since 2007 most recently serving as Ryan’s producer/co-host. Bryson has served as a high school and college football play-by-play voice in the area for the past decade and hosting a Saturday morning show on the station.

VP/Market Manager Steve Sinicropi states, “Wire 2 Wire allows us to elevate Diesel, who has worked alongside Marc for years, and Cole, who has done a great job with every sports assignment we’ve given him. Wire 2 Wire ill be a live, local sports show with knowledgeable, well-known local talent, and I know sports fans will love it.”

“I’m excited to begin a new step in my career,” said Diesel. “To be doing this with a friend like Cole Bryson, with whom I have a ton of respect and a great relationship, is especially exciting. We will focus on delivering outstanding local coverage of the teams that resonate most with the Upstate community while elevating The Fan’s brand through top-notch social media content. Ultimately, Cole and I are just two hungry, energetic hosts, driven by a passion for what we love the most – sports.”

“I am beyond excited to be hosting weekdays with someone I consider a true professional, Diesel,” said Bryson. “We promise to deliver a dynamic blend of entertainment and insightful content for our audience. Regardless of who you pull for in sports, we want you to be a part of our show.”

Ryan has held the afternoon shift at WORD/WYRD since 2019 after previous stints co-hosting afternoons at “98.7 The Fan” WHFS Tampa, and time at “Sports Radio 610” KILT Houston, “92.9 The Game” WZGC Atlanta, and Sporting News Radio.
