The Fan Indianapolis Adds Kevin Bowen For Mornings; Big Joe Staysniak Exits

Emmis Sports “93.5/107.5 The Fan” W228CX/W298BB/WIBC-HD2 Indianapolis made a pair of morning show changes on Friday.

Following the exit of PD/morning co-host Jeff Rickard last week to become Program Director of Audacy Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM Boston, the former 1070 WFNI introduced Kevin Bowen to join the morning show. Bowen had been with the station since 2017 as beat reporter for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts and NBA’s Indiana Pacers and writer for the station’s website. He also spent seven years with the Colts starting as an intern before becoming a writer for Colts.com.

After Friday’s first edition of the “Fan Morning Show with Big Joe and Bowen”, the station cut ties with ‘Big Joe’ Staysniak. The former Indianpolis Colts lineman had been with the Emmis Indianapolis cluster since his football career ended in 1998 as a contributor to News/Talk WIBC and as a daily host on “The Fan” since 2010 first in middays and the past decade in mornings. An Emmis spokesperson told the Indianapolis Star, “Big Joe Staysniak is no longer with Emmis and The Fan. He was always a fan favorite, and his knowledgeable insights and affable nature will be missed by his coworkers and listeners. We wish him nothing but the best in his next chapter. We would like to thank Big Joe for his many contributions to Emmis since he joined WIBC in 1998.”
