The Cat brings on board two new business patrons to help growth

Local radio station has agreed a deal with two local businesses to become patrons of the community radio station.

Boughey Distribution and Boyd Consultants will be offering support, business development advice and sponsorship that will enable the continuation of the volunteer-led service.

The two companies will work closely with The Cat, supporting decision making and assisting with ideas and vision for the growth of the radio station. Boyds and Boughey have also made a donation to The Cat that has allowed for the purchase of protective outdoor wear for the team of 50+ volunteers and has supported the station’s recent rebrand and launch on digital radio.

Angela Carus, Managing Director of Boughey Distribution said: “The team at The Cat provides an excellent broadcast service right in the heart of our local community and with a schedule that has something for everyone. What’s astonishing is that the station is run completely by volunteers.

“We have 800 colleagues working with us and the majority live in the Crewe and Nantwich area, so to provide sponsorship support for The Cat is an obvious and excellent partnership for us. With its audience figures on the increase, we look forward to working with the station as it continues to grow.”

Professor Alan Boyd, Founder and CEO of Boyd Consultants said: “At Boyds we help pharmaceutical companies and universities from Sydney to San Francisco develop their research ideas to turn them into medicines for the benefit of patients everywhere.

“Although we are a global organisation operating out of Crewe, I think it is also very important to be involved in the local community and becoming a Patron of The Cat is a great way to do that. I am very pleased that as a company we can contribute in this way and give our support”

Des Machin, Director of Business Development at The Cat said: “As a community organisation we work with and create content for audiences living in the Crewe and Nantwich area, and that audience includes hundreds of businesses with years of experience and expertise.

“We’re grateful to have forged this partnership with Boyds and Boughey, their support and advice has already made an impact on the reach and positive direction of the station.

“We’re looking forward to moving The Cat to the next level by increasing our interaction and visibility within the local area, and it’s clear from the fantastic work that Boughey and Boyds already do that they care deeply about people, and their local communities.”
