iHeartMedia has announced it will expand “103.7 The Q” WQEN Trussville/Birmingham AL’s “The Alabama Show” to CHR 94.1 WZBQ Tuscaloosa and “106.5 Kiss-FM” W293AH Huntsville.
The Alabama Show features Amber ‘Alabama’ Cole and DJ New Era. It debuted on WQEN in July 2021. Cole previously was part of the Carla Marie & Anthony Show at iHeartMedia’s “106.1 Kiss-FM” KBKS Seattle and has also hosted middays and mornings at Country “Big 95.5” WEBG Chicago, MD/afternoon host at “Now 105.3” WNOH Norfolk and was on-air at “Now 97.5” WJIM-FM Lansing. DJ New Era has served as a mixer for “104.1 The Beat” W281AB Birmingham and “Hot 105.7” WZHT Montgomery since 2017 after an run from 2014 to 2017 at SummitMedia’s “95.7 Jamz” WBHJ.
The Alabama Show replaces Premiere Networks’ Elvis Duran and the Morning Show in both markets.
94.1 ZBQ (WZBQ-FM/Tuscaloosa) and 106.5 KISS FM (WQRV-HD2/Huntsville) announced today the debut of The Alabama Show effective immediately. The Alabama Show will broadcast weekdays from 6-10 a.m. CST. The Alabama Show is based out of 103.7 the Q (WQEN-FM/Birmingham), launching in July 2021.
The Alabama Show is hosted by Alabama Cole and co-hosted by DJ New Era. The new show will feature interactive topics, listener games, plus a unique perspective on pop culture and local events.
As her name implies, Alabama Cole is a homegrown talent from Birmingham, Alabama. She has worked in morning radio for iHeartMedia Chicago’s BIG 95.5 and iHeartMedia Seattle’s HITS 106.1, among other stations throughout her career. She is also a successful podcaster, author, and public speaker.
