talkSPORT 2 is introducing a new programme and podcast called the EFL Fan Network Show.
The broadcast will be released weekly every Thursday at 6pm, starting today, Thursday 18th January, and will be available live on talkSPORT 2.
It will be hosted by Justin Beattie, one of talkSPORT’s Fan Network contributors.
The EFL Fan Network Show will focus on the Championship, League 1 and League 2, incorporating different Fan Network podcasts each week. talkSPORT aims to champion fan-led content, and provide a platform for creators to come on air and discuss the subject they are most passionate about.
Fans of the EFL can tune into this show each week, and through the show find the specific podcast for the club they support, bringing new, engaged audiences to the Fan Network.
Show host Justin Beattie says: “I’m delighted to have been asked to host the EFL Fan Network Show. This weekly programme on talkSPORT 2 will offer an opportunity for a much wider audience to hear the true voices of football – the fans! As someone that has been heavily involved in football fan podcasting for the past few years, I have experienced the passion and knowledge that fan content creators possess. They understand their clubs and the surrounding communities inside out and have a unique take on their respective teams. This insight will provide fantastic radio and shine a light on what goes on behind the scenes whilst also covering all of the action from on the pitch.”
Head of talkSPORT, Liam Fisher comments: “talkSPORT 2 is the destination station for the EFL as the exclusive radio broadcaster with over 120 matches every season including the play-offs. The EFL Fan Network Show and accompanying podcast is a fantastic addition to our coverage. This programme will cover all of the topics affecting the EFL both on and off the pitch and integrate the talkSPORT Fan Network creators with our award-winning on-air content.
James Rowe, Head of talkSPORT Fan Network adds: “This new show marks the next evolution of the talkSPORT Fan Network. We know our listeners want to hear about all of the top stories in sport which is why they love talkSPORT, but we also know that our listenership extends beyond just the top six. This is why we created the Fan Network in the first place, so that no matter which team you support, there will be somewhere you can find content about your club. This new show will uncover the stories that really matter to the fans following their team up and down the country each week. If you’re a fan of an EFL club then make sure you are tuning in each week. You won’t be disappointed!”
“The talkSPORT Fan Network has gone from strength to strength since its launch last season with over 60 club podcasts now signed up. Utilising the Fan network creators will ensure that we tap into local expertise and can find out exactly what is going on behind the scenes at clubs all across the EFL. I’m looking forward to hearing from those who know their clubs the best – the fans.”
