TalkRadio to broadcast The Sun Conservative leadership debate

TalkRadio will broadcast its own head-to-head debate between the two candidates vying to become the next Prime Minister and leader of the Conservative Party.

The one-off special is being co-hosted by The Sun’s Political Editor, Harry Cole, and the station’s Political Editor, Kate McCann.

It will be broadcast live from TalkTV’s studios in Ealing, and shown across News UK’s platforms – including simulcasts on TalkRadio and The Sun’s website and YouTube channel.

Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss will face questions in front of a studio audience, with The Sun readers able to submit questions for them to answer.

Richard Wallace, News Broadcasting’s Head of TV, praised the joined-up approach between the company’s print and broadcasting divisions: “TalkTV is proud to be showcasing The Sun’s critical all-live debate to decide the country’s next Prime Minister. This synergy between The Sun and TalkTV will give the UK a great opportunity to see the candidates put through their paces.”

The Sun’s Editor-in-chief, Victoria Newton says: “This is an important chance for Sun readers to quiz the two contenders vying to be their next PM, and ask questions about the issues that matter most to them and their families.”

‘The Sun’s Showdown: The Fight For No. 10’ is on tonight (Tuesday) at 6pm.
