Sunrise Radio renews partnership with heart charity CRY

A partnership between a heart charity and Sunrise Radio has been renewed for another 12 months.

The station will highlight the mission of Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) which works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death and offers support to families affected by it.

Tony Lit MBE, Managing Director of Sunrise Radio and Ambassador for CRY pledges to “keep raising awareness of CRY to the British Asian community” through the media partnership.

He says: “It’s been a tough couple of years and we’re going to do all we can to support the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

“The responsibility of running an iconic radio service like Sunrise Radio goes beyond selling commercials and programming entertaining airtime. Sunrise is now in its 33rd year of broadcasting to the South Asian community and – particularly during the Covid pandemic – has been relied upon as a source for important community messages, news and information.

“It’s vital that we ‘do our bit’ and support charitable organisations like CRY. There can be nothing worse than needlessly losing a young life – that’s why awareness campaigns like this are so important, working together with CRY to save young lives and invoke real change in communities across the UK.”

“Due to the pressures of the pandemic, our partnership ended up looking a little different to the original plans but I am still very proud of everything my team and our listeners achieved during this time – and now I really want 2022 to be the year that Sunrise raises as much awareness as possible!”
