Ahead of the closing of its purchase of the stations, Black Diamond Broadcasting has flipped Country “107.7 The Highway” 1490 WMPX/107.7 W299CK Midland MI to a simulcast of Classic Hits “Sunny 97.7” WMRX-FM Beaverton.
WMPX had previously simulcast WMRX-FM until signing on its translator and flipping to Country in March 2019. The addition of the simulcast improves the Classic Hits brand’s coverage in Midland proper as 97.7 rimshots the town.
Black Diamond Broadcasting has been operating the stations and “Discover Michigan Magazine” via LMA since October 2020. The company exercised its option to purchase them in April for $125,900.
