Sunni Joins WHUR As Midday Host

Sunni Sunny and the City Puric 96.3 WHUR 95.5 WPGC WashingtonHoward University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR Washington DC has announced the addition of Sunny Puric as midday host.

“Sunni And The City” previously was heard in middays and mornings on Audacy Hip Hop 95.5 WPGC from 2011 to 2021. She also has worked at at WJLB and WKQI Detroit and WPOW-FM Miami.

“Is there a word to describe when GREAT meets GREAT? We spoke with a lot of incredible people, but all roads led back home! Sunni is on the A-LIST of DMV TV, Radio, social life, and social media,” said Al Payne, WHUR’s Director of Programming and Operations. “Her work to empower WOMEN is unmatched as well. WHUR is changing the DC daily forecast with a guarantee of SUNNI days along with our (Quiet) STORMS at night!”

The addition of Sunni completes WHUR’s weekday line up beginning with the Steve Harvey Morning Show at 6 a.m, Sunni and the City at 10 a.m.., Frank Ski with Nina Brown at 3p.m., The Daily Drum with Harold Fisher at 7 p.m., and the Original Quiet Storm with John Monds from 7:30 p.m. to midnight.

Sunni is also a published author. Her book, “Still I Shine,” details her life from the refugee camps to the rise in radio and media. She says she plans to use her radio platform to continue to spread her message of philanthropy.
