Atlantic Gateway Communications Christian AC 91.9 WGTS Takoma Park MD/Washington DC is adding Summer Shepherd to its morning show starting in April.
Shepherd will join host Jerry Woods and producer Claude Jennings in mornings at WGTS. She has spent the past seven years in afternoons at Northwestern Media’s “Life 102.5” WNWC-FM Madison WI and nights at sister “Life 96.5” KNWC-FM Sioux Falls SD. She previously tracked afternoons at 100.7 KGBI-FM Omaha from 2018-21. Shepherd began her career in college at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago hosting afternoons on the Moody Radio Network.
WGTS 91.9 is pleased to welcome Summer Shepherd to the morning show team. She will join existing host Jerry Woods and producer Claude Jennings to continue sharing hope with the D.C. Metro region. Her new role starts in early April. Shepherd has been serving at Life 102.5 in Madison, Wisconsin, for the past seven years. Before that, she spent four years at the Moody Radio Network.
“To say my emotions are bittersweet would be putting things lightly. I have loved my time with Northwestern more than I can say. It’s a family I never thought I’d leave,” said Shepherd. “The solace is knowing that I have found another amazing family in WGTS. Having gone to school to be a missionary, I can see God working clearly as He opens doors to a true mission field in Washington, D.C. Our family is so excited to be stepping into this new role and new world, eager to see what God is going to do.”
WGTS program director Brennan Wimbish said, “We’re grateful to have Summer join Jerry and Claude on the morning show. I’m excited for her and the team to build an even deeper connection to listeners in the D.C. area.”
