NUJ members working for BBC England have voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action.
The NUJ says 83 per cent of journalists taking part in the ballot have voted for strikes across Local BBC Radio, whilst 17 per cent voted against strike action.
92 per cent voted in favour of action short of a strike, and eight per cent voted against action short of a strike.
Turn out rate of 69 per cent was achieved.
BBC bosses want the 39 stations in the local radio network to share 20 afternoon shows, 10 evening shows and a single all-England programme after 10pm.
BBC local reps will meet this afternoon, and members will be informed of the outcome of the meeting. We’ll update this article later today with more details.
