99.5 WGAR Cleveland APD/morning host Steve Wazz has exited the station in the company’s ongoing round of cuts and restructuring.
Wazz has hosted mornings at WGAR since October 2018 first with LeeAnn Summers and since May 2020 with Program Director Carletta Blake. Prior to his return home to his native Cleveland, Wazz was APD/afternoon host at iHeart CHR “G105” WDCG Durham NC from 2014-18 and previously worked for the company as APD/MD/afternoon host at KKDM Des Moines from 2003-06 and night host at KDWB Minneapolis from 2006-13. He also worked on-air at CBS Country “Buz’n 102.9″ KMNB Minneapolis in 2013-14.
Wazz also tracked afternoons on a number of iHeart Country stations across the country. He shared, “I was let go yesterday at WGAR due to a restructure. It’s a terrible feeling. No other way to put it. I’m crushed. I’m so grateful for the unbelievable opportunities and memories that I got to experience. Was such a rush to be back in my hometown doing the job I love…Radio. Thank you for the years of support. If you’ve ever listened to the show in Cleveland or in the other markets I was on….I appreciate you!!!! Ready for the next chapter.”
