After a decade overseeing programming at Cox Media Group, Steve Smith has resigned.
Smith had joined Cox in August 2011 after stints as VP Programming for CBS Radio New York, SVP/Programming for Clear Channel and predecessor AMFM, and VP/Programming for Emmis. Smith also programmed Rhythmic CHR “Power 92” KKFR Phoenix and “Hot 97” WQHT New York. He has also operated his own consultancy, “Steve Smith Radio & Ratings” on and off in his career.
Smith’s resignation comes a little over a month after Cox made a number of layoffs across their radio stations.
