KJCS-FM announces the hiring of market veteran Steve Rixx to lead the efforts of “Willy 103-3” as Station Manager.
Rixx was born and raised in the area and began his radio career in the Lufkin/Nacogdoches market in 1989. He says, “I couldn’t be more excited to get back to my old stomping grounds and serve this great community. After working for several local stations, I left for Houston. Rixx adds, “I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in the business, and I’m bringing that knowledge back to East Texas to do great radio with KJCS “Willy 103-3”. It’ll be great to see old friends, and spend time with my family, while at the same time working in the business that I love.”
KJCS was recently purchased by Bryan Broadcasting on May 15, 2023, and began airing a new Classic Country format as “Willy 103-3”. The station is available loud and proud on 103.3 FM all around East Texas, as well as on willy1033.com and on the free “Willy 103-3” app.
