Station Sales Week Of 5/12: Red River Radio Doubles Up In Shreveport

Red River Radio ShreveportLouisiana State University Shreveport’s “Red River Radio” will acquire Centenary College of Louisiana’s 91.3 KSCL Shreveport LA in exchange for three underwriting messages per day for five years, a message on its hourly station ID for ten years noting it was “founded by Centenary College”, and an opportunity for the college’s students to get on-air opportunities on the the station for ten years. Red River Radio already owns Public 89.9 KDAQ Shreveport.

New Mexico Junior College donates Silent 100.9 KNMJ Eunice/Hobbs NM to Eastern New Mexico University. KNMJ has been silent since July 2022 due to staffing issues and associated financial concerns. The donee will add KNMJ to its Public News/Talk network based at 89.5 KENW-FM Portales NM.

Lee Family Broadcasting sells 93.5 KXCD Fairfield ID to CSN International for $75,000. KXCD currently simulcasts Regional Mexican “99.1 La Perrona” KXTA-FM Gooding/Twin Falls.

The Power Foundation sells Southern Gospel “The Life FM” 1160 WWQT Tryon/98.3 W252EJ Hendersonville NC to Todd Fowler’s Skyline Media of Forest City for $200,000. The deal will create a duopoly with Fowler’s Full Service Oldies 590 WCAB/100.9 W265DW Rutherfordton, which he closed on his $450,000 acquisition last month.

Translator Sales

Elkhorn Media Group’s KJDY LLC acquires 96.5 K243AA Union OR from Grande Ronde Christian Radio Association for $3,000. The sale lists Elkhorn Media Group’s Country 104.7 KCMB as originating station upon closing.

Sale Withdrawals

Saul Levine’s Advance Public Radio, Inc. has withdrawn its acceptance of a donation of 650 KPRP Honolulu and 940 KKNE Waipahu HI from SummitMedia. For the second time since December, SummitMedia has turned in the licenses of the stations after doing so in December and then withdrawing it following the planned donation of the licenses to Advance Public Radio.
