James Martin’s PMB Broadcasting is selling Adult R&B “95.3 Smooth R&B” WRLD Valley AL/Columbus GA to the Augusta Radio Fellowship Institute for $1.3 million, which will add the station to its Christian “Good News Network“. PMB Broadcasting will retain its other four FMs and nine translators in the Columbus market. WRLD had been operated by Martin’s son Christopher Martin’s RCG Media via LMA since 2019.
Civic Media will convert its LMA of Good Karma Brands’ 1580 WTTN Columbus/92.7 W224EG Madison WI into a a purchase for $363,000 minus LMA fees since May 2021. Civic Media partner Mike Crute has operated WTTN as Liberal Talk “Devil Radio 92.7” since 2018.
The operators of the annual Burning Man festival will acquire Variety 91.5 KFBR Gerlach NV from Friends of Black Rock High Rock Inc. Burning Man Project will pay $6000 for the station which covers the area near where the festival takes place each year.
Chip Darby’s Darby Ventures will purchase 1300 KHTW Lumberton TX from Carlos Lopez for $100. In a separate deal, Darby will acquire the station’s property from the Proctor Family Trust for an undisclosed price. Darby previously worked at the station during its Conservative Talk “Freedom 1300” lineup in the early 2010s.
Elliott ‘Chip’ Morgan’s Mud Radio acquires 101.5 WEXP Brandon/Rutland VT from Steve Cormier’s Woodchuck Radio for $30,000. The buyer began operating WEXP via LMA in July as as Americana “Mud Radio”
Adam Gearhart will transfer Classic Rock “104.9 The X” WXLR Harold and Oldies 105.3 WXKZ-FM Prestonburg KY to AJSPD LLC for the assumption of liabilities. Gearhart owns 25% of the acquiring company, which also owns Hot AC “Foxy 94.3” WIFX-FM Jenkins KY. All three stations operate under the “Gearhart Radio” umbrella.
