William Zucker and Justin Duty’s Hawaii Island Radio Corporation will acquire AC “The Beach” 102.7 KTBH-FM Kurtistown/106.9 KWYI Kawaihae, Classic Hits “Lava 105.3” KBGX Keaau, and Country “Koa Country” 107.7 KKOA Volcano HI from Resonate Hawaii for the assumption of debt. Zucker has served as General Manager of the stations since 2014 and will own 90% of the new company, with Operations Manager Duty holding a 10% stake. The Australian based Resonate Hawaii will retain its other two stations on the island of Hawaii in Hot AC simulcast “The Wave” 92.7 KHBC Hilo and 92.1 KHWI Holualoa. A Time Brokerage Agreement for the buyers will take effect on January 1, 2024.
Ed Perry’s Marshfield Broadcasting Company sells 1460 WBMS/101.1 W266DA Brockton MA to Beatrice Innocent Cesar’s Fraternity Broadcasting Group for $350,000. The buyer owns no other stations, but her husband Gerlens Cesar had entered a Consent Decree with the FCC paying a $5000 penalty after originally being issued a $453,015 fine in 2019 for operating pirates on 90.1 in Boston and 92.1 in Brockton and Malden MA as Haitian “Radio TeleBoston“. Marshfield will retain Variety 95.9 WATD-FM Marshfield. WBMS mostly simulcasts WATD-FM currently.
WVRC Audio is exercising its option to reacquire Country “3WS Lake Country 95.7” WSWW-FM Craigsville WV from AJG Corporation for $75,000. WVRC Audio had sold WSWW-FM to AJG in 2017 for $72,000 and has continued to operate the station via Time Brokerage Agreement for $4900 per-month.
