Station Sales Week Of 1/28: EMF Reaches Hawaii Settlement From Non-Comm Filing Window

Educational Media Foundation and Community Service Broadcasting Foundation have reached a settlement agreement for mutually exclusive non-commercial applications they filed in Hawaii. EMF will withdraw its application for 88.1 in Lihue to allow Community Service Broadcasting Foundation to gain its CP for 88.1 Anahola. In exchange, EMF will acquire CSBF’s CP for 90.7 Hanapepe for no consideration.

JWH Broadcasting is returning Country “99.3 The Bull” WQDK Gatesville NC to Icon Broadcasting for the cancellation of the $165,000 remaining on its promissory note. The late Joe Hartmann Jr.’s JWH Broadcasting purchased WQDK in February 2021 for $185,000. Icon retook over operations of WQDK via Time Brokerage Agreement on January 1.

KTC Broadcasting sells Oldies/Beach Music 1050 WLON/107.5 W298CK Lincolnton NC to Lanny Ford’s Sports Talk Guys LLC for $275,000. An LMA will take effect on February 1. Ford owns Business “Biz Radio Asheville” 1350 WZGM Black Mountain NC under the name HRN Broadcasting.

Kelly Trask’s Diamond Shores Broadcasting is purchasing Country “Real Country 96.9” WKLO Hardinsburg IN from Daisy Holdings for $337,000. Trask has been operating WKLO via Time Brokerage Agreement since January 2021. The station joins a cluster that includes AC “Mix 95.3” WUME-FM and Classic Hits “Gold 98.7” 1560 WSEZ/98.7 W254CO Paoli IN. Trask also owns Midnight Hour Broadcasting’s Hot AC “The Buzz” 1390 WZZB/99.3 W257DO Seymour and BK Media’s Country “92.7 Nash Icon” WXKU-FM Austin IN.
