After over 23 years as part of “Channel 95.5” WKQI Detroit’s “Mojo In The Morning”, Spike has exited the show as part of iHeartMedia’s ongoing layoffs.
Spike had been part of the morning show since its launch in February 2000 after previous stints at Alternative “105.1 The Edge” WXDG, “93.3 The Zone” KKZN Dallas and 103.9 WDRE Philadelphia. He was the last original member of the morning show team besides Mojo.
In a social media post this morning, Spike wrote, “For more than 23 years, it has been a dream come true to entertain you. I never took it for granted. It’s with much love that I say THANK YOU for your support. Radio is in my blood so to say I’m going to miss it would be a massive understatement. Although I can’t answer questions regarding this change, you can always stay in touch with me here… and if you see me, please say hi!”
In addition to WKQI, Mojo in The Morning also airs on “92.5 Kiss-FM” WVKS Toledo OH and 104.5 WSNX Muskegon/Grand Rapids MI. The show also aired on “Hot 98.3” KOHT Tucson AZ from 2010-2013.
