Silverfish Media has announced that Jessica ‘Carsen’ Humphreville will rise to Director of Operations and Programming, while Jonathan Shaffer joins as Operations Manager ahead of Patrick Thomas’ move to PickleJar’s new overnight show on Cumulus Media Country stations.
All Silverfish employees with report to Carsen as she takes over as main point of contact for Silverfish Media business including The Big D & Bubba morning show. She has been with the company since 2016 hosting the syndicated midday “Country with Carsen” as well as part of the Big D and Bubba Show. She rose to company Director of Programming in 2018.
Shaffer will succeed Thomas as Executive Producer of Big D and Bubba and serve as Operations Manager for the company. He most recently served as morning show producer for Cumulus Media Sports “104.5 The Zone” WGFX Nashville. He previously programmed Ryman Classic Country 650 WSM from 2009 to 2019 and “106.7 The Fan” WNFN from 2004-08.
Thomas debuted on May 5 as host of “PickleJar Up All Night” on Cumulus Media’s 47 Country stations. He had been with Big D & Bubba’s show for 24 years and served as President of the company since 2018. He will continue to serve as Executive Producer and co-host for the company’s “Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence” weekend show.

In her new role as Director of Operations and Programming, Carsen will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day business at the Nashville-based production company. All full-time, part-time, and contract employees will report to Carsen, and she will be the main point of contact for all Silverfish Media business.
Humphreville joined Silverfish Media in 2016. In addition to hosting her own syndicated, live midday show, she has served as the company’s Director of Programming since 2018 and is a cast member on the company’s flagship program, The Big D and Bubba Show.
Shaffer takes over as Executive Producer of The Big D and Bubba Show and serves as Operations Manager for the company. He joins Silverfish Media from Cumulus Nashville where he served as the morning show producer for WGFX-FM. Prior to his latest role, he served as the Program Director of WSM-AM from 2017 to 2019.“We are so excited for Carsen’s promotion and can’t wait to see Shaffer hit the ground running,” said Big D. Outgoing Silverfish Media President Patrick Thomas will end his tenure June 5, after nearly 24 years with The Big D and Bubba Show, but remains with the company as Executive Producer and Co-Host for Silverfish syndicated weekend show Honky Tonkin’ with Tracy Lawrence.
